FIZZ
WE SAY
Our final Ones To Watch 2024 for this week is the joyous pop collective FIZZ. Born when longtime friends and musicians dodie, Orla Gartland, Greta Isaac and Martin Luke Brown came together to make music together as a band for the first time, the collective announced themselves with a set at this year’s Great Escape festival. Having recorded a debut album at Middle Farm Studios with Pete Miles, they then released a string of giddy and heartfelt pop songs, including this gorgeous tune and their RotD-featured debut, ‘High In Brighton’. At the end of October, they dropped their album ‘The Secret To Life’, a body of work bursting with unfettered joy and silliness. DIY, Dork, The Irish Times, and The Line of Best Fit, among others, have sung their praises while DSP support has come from Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Deezer. Plus, Radio 1 were big fans, playlisting two of their singles and recording a Live From Maida Vale session and a Xmas Piano Session. Next year sees them take their album on the road for a tour across the UK in February and hopefully some summer festival slots too. FIZZ are a collective that brings a joy to music that is not seen often and one that we love and think mainstream audiences will too, making them one of our Ones To Watch 2024.
