One Last Time [from the EP: A New Shape]

WE SAY
Swedish artist Andrea Kellerman returns after a five year absence under her alias of Firefox AK, and it’s a joy hearing her latest work. This featured song from five-track EP A New Shape is immaculately produced by Claes Björklund (known from iamamiwhoami), and dripping with class, like some long-lost synth-pop ballad duet from back in the day. Her vocal partner is young rising Nordic star, Warner-signed Elias, and together they magically cast us back to the atmosphere of a late night dance in the 1980’s, with something you’d have had on a loop in your car cassette player as you drove home afterwards. It’s intimate, it’s beautiful and, above all, it’s so uplifting melodically. Previously Andrea has been nominated for a Swedish Grammy, supported Hurts on their early European tours, and been one of the pioneers of the Scandi electronica scene. This track was featured in last week’s Spotify New Music Friday playlist and has just been added to rotation on national Sveriges Radio P3. We wrongly assumed that nobody made songs like this anymore. But thank goodness they do. It’s a total triumph.
