Originally hailing from Stockport but now based in London, Findlay is the work of Natalie Findlay and her band. This latest track demands your attention right from the opening bars and it follows in the footsteps of Off & On and Greasy Love, two songs that got lots of support at both Xfm and 6Music, More recently came Electric Bones, which went online in February and received much critical acclaim, ending up at no.2 on Spotify’s US viral chart and at no.15 globally. After a couple of shows at London’s Oslo and Manchester’s Gorilla last week, Findlay next play live at Liverpool Sound City in May. There’s a great lyrical edge to this song and you can almost hear the resentment and bitterness in Natalie’s vocal delivery as she uses the wolf in the title as a metaphor for a relationship breakdown. But it’s all wrapped-up in an insanely catchy pop melody. Dark yet light, sleazy yet glossy, it’s that juxtaposition and conflict in a winning combination.
