WE SAY
Shotgun is a great track start to finish, offering a rocking Peter Gunn-esque bass line, energetic production and Eugene McGuinness's really rather hilarious lyrics about nights out getting sozzled and eating kebabs. Whilst the songwriter has been popular with critics since his 2007 debut release, he's never quite broken through completely. On the evidence of Shotgun that looks set to change this year, with his third album expected for release in June. Online buzz is growing, with McGuinness set to perform on a spate of support dates with Marina & The Diamonds this week, before a run as special guest with Miles Kane throughout April. Video.
