Northern Lights
Escapists
WE SAY
Escapists deliver another outstanding song as they consolidate their growing reputation as one of the best newcomers of a new generation of british guitar bands. Northern Lights follows two John Kennedy 'Hot Ones' on his Xfm show, the first was the RotD featured debut Post Gospel Blues in late 2011, followed by the acclaimed title track from the proceeding Burial EP, which received further support from Huw Stephens on Radio 1, Q and NME Radio, plus a raft of glowing press and online pick up. This release picks up where the previous left off, wrapped up in a combination of dreamy guitars with choppy crescendos and expressive vocal harmonies. The band's recent appearance on the BBC Stage at Reading & Leeds saw them championed as one of Huw Stephens's tips for the weekend, picked up in the NME and on daytime Radio 1. Video.
