If you’re hooked into the ever-changing vibrant output of Nashville, you’ll be aware of the latest buzz around Erin Rae. Regarded as the ‘go-to’ girl for harmonies on a string of acclaimed albums, she became a self-taught, highly-regarded vocal coach, all whilst steadily building a sideline career as a songwriter. Earlier this month, she released this featured track here in the UK, and instantly had key tastemaker blogs falling over themselves to heap superlatives on the song after its premiere via The 405. Deacon Blue frontman Ricky Ross is a huge fan and played the song on his Radio 2 show Another Country. Erin is over here playing live dates and she wowed the audience on Tuesday night (June 20) at The Green Note in London. It’s all part of the set up to her forthcoming album and her first proper single in this country, Wild Blue Wind, which The Line Of Best Fit are jumping on board to support. Think Lana Del Rey or Feist, backed by top Nashville session players, all helmed by Jack White, and you’ll get a feel of how wonderful this two minute track is. Get ready for your next musical obsession.
