WE SAY
Episode are a New York-based four-piece whose cool retro influences are worn with pride. This fabulous track instantly transports you back to the days when Red Hot Chili Peppers and Spin Doctors ruled the airwaves and the charts worldwide back in the '90s. It comes from their second EP release Late Night Episode, due later this month, which is the follow-up to debut Hold On. It sees the band fully transform from their previous incarnation as an alternative hip-hop group into a wonderfully competent unit with a neat ability to distill everything you’ve ever loved about funk-driven rock into one tight radio-friendly three-minute burst. Currently ranked at No.11 on the SoundCloud Alternative chart, with over 100k organic streams in a month, and playing across 40 US college stations, the band headlined Arlene’s Grocery in New York over this past weekend and we’d love to see them play live in the UK later in the year as we’re sure they’d be welcomed with open arms. Right now, if The 1975 were from Manhattan, they’d sound identically like Episode.
