Now here’s an artist that’s fully immersing themselves into today’s exciting world of tech and voice-recognition devices to push their music forward to new audiences. Emma McGann is a musician, performer and live streamer who has racked up almost 11 million streams to date through the YOUNOW platform, whilst adding more than 200,000 followers along the way. Her previous music has been supported by Radio 1 and BBC Introducing and been featured across several New Music Friday playlists. Her last single saw her engage with fans with the use of VR180 technology, and now there’s a new Alexa Skills app set up for followers to engage with, featuring a single countdown, songwriting game and Finish The Lyric. Misfits is an accomplished acoustic-pop song with an almost timeless quality to it that could place it neatly at radio. Upbeat, positive and naggingly catchy, Emma’s set to tour the US later this year, thanks to a BPI MEGS grant. Everything about this project so far is shaping up nicely. We’re watching this girl with keen interest.
