Back in 2019, we introduced you to Winchester-based singer-songwriter Emilia Tarrant and her gorgeous piano-led interpretation of NF’s 2017 hit If You Want More. The track went on to feature on Love Island (as suggested by us) and has now amassed over 300k combined streams. Since then, the 19 year old has been hard at work finishing her music production course at college and writing a collection of tracks with Nick Atkinson (Lewis Capaldi, Dean Lewis), Jonathan Quarmby (Tom Walker, James Arthur) and James Walsh from Starsailor. Released on Friday, this sweeping and gorgeous piano-led pop ballad marks the first offering from her Luke Potashnick (Gabrielle Aplin) produced EP, which is out later this summer. It made an immediate impact at Apple Music, where it has picked up five editorial playlists, including New Music Daily, New In Pop, Today’s Acoustic, Acoustic Winter and Breaking Acoustic. Later today, Vevo will premiere the video Honeymoon Phase, along with playlist support, while TikTok’s brandnewtracks has just shared the song with their 4.2m followers. Perfect for plays across Radio 1, Radio 2 and Capital, Honeymoon Phase moving lyrics and lush production is set to become one of your new favourite tracks. Plus, it wouldn’t surprise us if this is again picked up for Love Island or other TV drama syncs in the future too. Just beautiful.
