WE SAY
22 year old Elle Charms is the latest new pop signing to 37 Recordings, the label known for launching the careers of Emily Burns, Rosie Lowe and JONES (all previous RotD’s too). Produced by Measure For Measure (who we featured in August), Lie With Me is an ode to personal confrontation, underpinned by a deliciously infectious disco-tinged melody, an addictive beat and lush vocal hooks. It’s a confident first statement from the emerging pop artist who spent her early years peering into the pop world from her rural surroundings in Devon. The track comes with a beautifully shot video by Ciarán Woods who has previously directed videos for Spector, JONES and Blakey, which will be going live on 9 October. In the meantime, we can see this seductive pop nugget finding love from online tastemakers, as well as new additions to pop playlists. With an EP to come in the new year, this is just the start for Elle Charms. An alluring new pop banger.
