Released on Friday (9 July), Tidal Wave is the emotionally charged debut from electronic duo EchoStorms. Formed by English producer and writer Ben Locke, (who has credits with Timbaland, Jason Nevins and Snoop Dogg), and Russian rave DJ Katya Fadeeva, the duo have been working hard on music in their studio in Bulgaria during lockdown. This blast of reflectively melancholic and uplifting dance is the first of many for the duo, which we have been lucky to hear a sneak preview of. With its punchy bass and sidewinding synth lines, Tidal Wave offers a rich and dynamic soundbed for Ben and Katya’s evocative vocals to create a melodic dance gem, perfect for the opening of clubs and dancefloors across Europe. The track has already received massive support from some big-name DJs, including David Guetta, Claptone, Martin Garrix, Tiesto, Riva Starr and Roger Sanchez. Further tastemaker support has come from numerous dance blogs, including Electronic Groove, EDM Identity, and DMC. Accompanying the track is a remix by Chapter & Verse, with who they will be collaborating on their next single in August for Atlantic Records. One to watch.
