Dry the River
WE SAY
Dry the River are an east-London quintet whose refined, lyrical ‘hard-core gone soft’ has been making waves of late. After 150 shows in the last 12 months and 150,000 hits on their ‘Watch Listen Tell’ YouTube session, the band release their first vinyl-only single on Transgressive next month. Everything we've heard and seen so far brims with stadium-sized ambition, and this single serves as a pleasing statement of intent, complete with what Paul Lester at The Guardian calls a 'festival crowd-pleasing chorus'. More coverage has come from NME (read Leonie Cooper's piece here). A big hit at Eurosonic, they headline Barfly next month, play SXSW and Great Escape and, unsurprisingly, 18 more UK festivals across next summer. Championed originally by BBC Introducing - and now by Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, Rob Da Bank and Fearne Cotton (along with John Kennedy at XFM) - their song 'Weights And Meaures', is currently on the In New Music We Trust Playlist at Radio 1.
