Dot Rotten
WE SAY
BBC Sound Of 2012 tip Dot Rotten brings a refreshing angle to the grime scene, producing himself and opting against featuring other artists. Whilst his set up single Keep It On A Low was added to Radio 1's In New Music We Trust playlist, this cracking track - produced by TMS - looks set to announce the savvy 22 year-old to the wider listening audience. It's had a storming start already with Zane Lowe making it his Hottest Record In The World on Wednesday, and support from Nick Grimshaw a full two months ahead of release. Dot may not have any GCSEs but landing a job at Saxon studios gave him an opportunity to master his skills as a producer engineer, and has cuts already with Spark, Griminal, Ghetts, Maxsta, P Money, Tinie Tempah and Wiley. He's picking up broad press support with features in NME, Dazed & Confused, ID, RWD and The Guardian online. With this great track set for release and a March tour support with Labrinth around the corner, this guy looks the real deal. Video.
