WE SAY
Brisbane-based indie-rock band Dopamine delivers a gorgeous blend of synth-driven indie with nostalgic doses of late ’80s and early ’90s indie in this blissful, anthemic gem. Written “about coming back to a place that has memories for you”, ‘Angela’ is the first single to be taken from their forthcoming new EP and was recorded/mixed at their home studio. It marks a bold new chapter for the band as they return to solidify their reputation as Australia’s best new buzz band after they captured the attention of triple J, Spotify and Apple Music last year with their single ‘Don’t Mind Anyway’. On the live front, they have graced stages at BigSound, Crafted Festival, Mountain Goat Valley Crawl, Tenerife Festival and Let the Music Play. No plans yet for any UK shows, let’s hope they get picked up for any Australian Music export programmes for next year as we reckon they would go down well here.
