Like Best Friends
Dirty Nice
WE SAY
With its energetic blend of fun, off-kilter melodies and dreamy indie feel, ‘Like Best Friends’ is one of two new singles from cartoon indie/alternative duo Dirty Nice. Following the release of their acclaimed (Rolling Stone, Clash, Fader, i-D, MTV) second album, ‘Surrenderland’, last November, the music project of ‘Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared’ composer Charlie Pelling and Lisbon-based musician and longtime collaborator Mark Thompson has returned with a flying start to life since the new singles were released last week. Premiered by Chris Hawkins on 6 Music and played on Radio 1 (Alyx Holcombe), the track has been playlisted on editorial playlists at Spotify and Apple Music and praised by the Line Of Best Fit, DIY and Dork. Watch the hectic video filmed in Lisbon here. Expect to hear the track receive further spins on the radio after receiving lots of support at Radio 1, Radio 2 and 6 Music for their previous album, including a Radio 1 BBC Introducing playlist spot for 'Shark!'. Having signed to Just Isn’t Music publishing this year, and had syncs on Playstations Pro Evo Soccer and Gran Turismo as well as TV shows Mary Kills People, Love Island and Made In Chelsea, the duo can also count Florence Pugh as a fan as she chose a song from the band for her selection on the Vogue podcast. This May will see them head out on their first headline tour as a live six-piece and will include a show at the Courtyard Theatre in London on 4 May.
