Music To Make The Boys Cry
Diana Vickers
WE SAY
For better or worse Diana Vickers didn't win X Factor. Her unique vocals were misplaced in the guidance of the TV show who didn't really seem to get what Diana could be, but then again, maybe she's too unique for covers. When the talented singer finally came out with debut single Once, it soared straight to the No 1 spot, as did debut album Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree. After a split with RCA over 'creative differences', free download, Music To Make The Boys Cry is the first we've heard from the 20 year old, and we love it. Co-written by Diana and Simen Says of Norwegian band Donkeyboy, the track is fun and addictive. Despite its online only release last week it has already picked up rave reviews from Popjustice, Guardian Music, Perez Hilton and Heatworld. Diana is busy putting the finishing touches on her next album, with writing and production collaborations including Miranda Cooper, Donkeyboy, David Gamson (from Scritti Politti) and Patrik Berger (Robyn).
