Let us introduce you to the gorgeous and captivating ethereal sounds of London-based artist DAYLA. For the past year, she has been travelling back and forth to Paris to work with her producer and friend NBO Town on her debut body of work. The result is this beautifully expansive yet intimate recording of thoughtful lyrics about the essence of love over delicately layered piano chords and flourishes of minimal electronic production. It’s a seductive offering that has already enticed early tastemaker praise from the likes of the Times and Earmilk while Clash premiered the video, directed by Kamila K Stanley, last week. With her angelic vocals and downtempo vibes, we sense this is the start of something beautiful here and we can’t wait to hear what’s next from her forthcoming debut EP. A sumptuously laidback dose of alt-pop.
