21 year old Elena Tonra aka Daughter recently self-released her debut four-track EP His Young Heart, led by the exquisite Landfill. It's a beautiful collection of songs, with a startling maturity in Tonra's voice and writing impressing live audiences and more besides in a short space of time. Early demos crept up to No.3 in the Most Popular Song chart on The Hype Machine and led to her first national radio play on 6 Music with Tom Robinson and a live session with Jo Good on BBC London. Steve Lamacq at Radio 2 has shown early support to this EP by playing Landfill. Recent support shows in London with the likes of Lia Ices and Marcus Foster, as well as a busy EP launch at The Slaughtered Lamb, lead nicely into three upcoming shows at The Great Escape and some festival slots over the summer. As The Independent's Barometer column noted, this is 'beautifully-sung, literary folk'.
