You Can't Be My Girl

We've been fans of Darwin Deez since featuring him as an unsigned artist back in 2009. You Can't Be My Girl is the second single from his sophomore album Songs For Imaginative People, a great radio track which should see him build on the success of Free (The Editorial Me), which received a Hottest Record from Zane, a Big Thing from Fearne Cotton and a B-list at 6Music. The hilarious, Keith Schofield-directed video - viewed 500k times in its debut week across YouTube and Vimeo - is brilliantly creative, utilising soulless corporate stock footage to tell an engaging story of unrequited love, and fully warrants the many plaudits it's receiving. Following a sold-out show at Heaven, his forthcoming UK tour stops off at Shepherd's Bush Empire on May 2.
