Dan Bryk

unsigned/ Urban Myth, US

WE SAY

This is from Canadian artist Dan Bryk's first proper release since 2000's Lovers Leap on New York label Scratchie (run by Fountains Of Wayne members). This lead single was mixed by Greg Wells (Mika, Rufus Wainwright) in LA. For all the lo-fi charm it possesses, this is tuneful, accessible indie packed with wry lyrical wit and a fine pop sensibility. Taking up a similar place to the aforementioned Fountains of Wayne, it could definitely have a market over here. JF
