WE SAY

With her fiery and saucy lyricism, Zimbabwe-born and London-raised female rapper Cookiie delivers a fresh and powerful dose of hip-hop in ‘Looky Looky’. Influenced by Erykah Badu, Aaliyah, Mc Lyte, Missy Elliott and Queen Latifah, Cookiie’s twist on classic hip hop has seen her 2023 singles ‘Fashion’ and ‘Too Much Money’ draw praise from the Source magazine and co-signs from Babyface and Joe Thomas. Written by Cookiie with long-time collaborator Gachi and produced by Leon Acheampong, the track premiered on Wonderland magazine on Wednesday. The song would be perfect on energetic hip-hop and new pop playlists at DSPs, as well as spins on 1Xtra and Capital Xtra. With an EP and collection of singles ready to be released over the coming year, Cookiie is ready to take the next step and is an artist to watch closely with her charismatic and individual sense of style.
