Talking About
Conor Maynard
WE SAY
We first heard several months ago that Conor Maynard was coming back with new material but we weren’t quite prepared for how good a pop record it would be. Co-written by Craig David with production from Mojam (best known for their work with Emeli Sande, Naughty Boy and on Sam Smith’s million-selling album), it comes three years after his No.1 album and opening UK chart run of five Top 10 hits like Can’t Say No and Vegas Girl. Still only 22, he’s upped the stakes with this and it puts him firmly in a strong position to cross over into territories where many of them may view him essentially as a new artist. House-influenced beats underpin an R&B-flavoured vocal that you can instantly hear working across a multitude of radio formats as the weather turns and we start looking for the songs to add to our summer playlists. Tomorrow (March 5) Conor takes part in We Day, Richard Branson’s huge annual event at Wembley Arena, celebrating active youth citizenship from around the world. He's back with a bang and expect to hear this everywhere in the coming months.
