It’s been just over a year since we introduced you to producer and multi-instrumentalist Conor Albert and the gloriously soul-blessed, jazz-flecked number Undecided. Since then, the London-based artist has amassed over 5m streams, received tastemaker praise from the likes of the Line of Best Fit, Clash, Spotify, and Amazon Music, as well as catching the attention of Questlove, Jacob Collier, Justin Bieber and Zane Lowe along the way. Plus, his recent beat videos and collaborations on social media with Priya Ragu, Disclosure, Tom Misch, Zak Abel, and Maya Delilah has seen him build his fanbase. Having just signed to Ninja Tune in North America, this soulful alt-pop cut, co-written with Carmody and featuring Matilda Mann on backing vocals, is his first release (released yesterday – 11 August) where his vocals take the lead. Layered with groovy guitar lines, shimmering synths and a shuffling jazzy percussive backing, Keep Your Faith sees Conor reminiscing about a previous relationship that went awry, and is a gorgeous listen. Worthy of new release programming this Friday and additions to chilled out/mood playlists, expect to see this pick up more tastemaker love over the coming days.
