This laid-back and optimistic affair is the latest release from RotD-featured producer and multi-instrumentalist Conor Albert. Back in August, we fell in love with the soul-blessed, jazz-flecked sounds of Undecided featuring Marie Dahlstrøm, which picked up some serious support at Spotify with editorial playlist additions to Sweet Soul Sunday, Good Energy, Riffs & Runs and New Music Friday. This time around he has teamed up Alice Auer whom he first met in 2019 and bonded over a love of classic jazz and contemporary beat-driven music. Taken from their forthcoming collaborative EP that was written in the spring and recorded across the summer, Smile embraces the idea of living in the moment and being positive. Adopting a more mellow, soulful sound with hip-hop influences, the track again found support at Spotify (NMF), as well as Amazon Music and received tastemaker support from the likes of Clash, Independent and New Wave magazine. Beautiful smooth, chilled and gloriously upbeat.
