Easier Pretending You’re Dead

We’ve quickly become obsessed with this dark lullaby from singer-songwriter Connie Talbot. Channelling undertones of empowerment and individual strength, ‘Easier Pretending You’re Dead’ woos you into a sense of foreboding with its syncopated handclapping before being hypnotised by its stirring strings, lulling vocals and waltzy tone. Watch the video here. This marvellous alt-pop ode marks a new beginning for the artist who first found fame at the age of six on Britain’s Got Talent. In 2007, after appearing on the talent show she released her debut album ‘Over The Rainbow’, which went gold status in the UK and platinum in south-east Asia, leading to tours across Asia and America. Early support for the single released last week has come from Evening Standard, The Independent and Wonderland, along with editorial playlist support at Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, and Deezer. Later this summer, she’ll be releasing an EP, and we can’t wait to hear more from her and this new direction.
