‘Come On Over’ is the latest release from singer, songwriter and musician Col Gerrard. Having spent his youth bouncing between Vancouver and London, and then in his 20s in LA and travelling the world, Col has always been immersed in music. Influenced by his mother’s love for classic artists like Simon & Garfunkel and Burt Bacharach to his brother’s jazz collection and his love for Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell and David Bowie, Col’s brand of music is steeped in soul and R&B touched with pop elements. His first two singles ‘Sun & Sky’ and ‘You Need Me’ have won him admirers at regional radio stations across the UK, alongside praise from Rolling Stone UK for this, his third single. Produced by Grammy-nominated and BRIT Award-winning Chris Potter (Richard Ashcroft, The Verve), the track is a warm, timeless and vulnerable offering, showcasing Col’s rich vocals against a piano-led production powered by a funk-tinged guitar riff. Perfect for spins on Radio 2, ‘Come On Over’ offers a tantalising glimpse into the soul and sound of Col’s forthcoming album in April.
