Beautiful & Useless
Club Smith
WE SAY
Beautiful & Useless remains firmly fixed on the RotD playlist after we were sent it last week. The chorus has proven unforgettable, with the band picking up industry interest in recent weeks. Seven dates with Kaiser Chiefs have seen Club Smith sell an impressive 900 CDs and vinyls. The band picked up early support on previous tracks from Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson and were playlisted on Xfm, where they were championed by Jon Kennedy. Will Jackson (The Cribs, Embrace, The Music) and James Kenosha (Pulled Apart By Horses, Dinosaur Pile Up, Grammatics) have produced the forthcoming debut album which was funded by All Sorted!?! Records. For the moment they are available for licensing of the record, plus publishing and management, but after the Kaiser Chiefs' tour, competition for the Leeds four-piece will be picking up.
