Tears (ft. Louisa Johnson)
Clean Bandit
WE SAY
Likely to dominate charts worldwide all summer long, the sudden return of Clean Bandit sees them hook up with the 2015 X Factor winner Louisa Johnson for this instantly-appealing smash and future karaoke classic. Released today (May 27) and set to give the band their fifth UK Top 5 hit, it’s a collaboration that works perfectly for both partners. Louisa’s vocals are delivered with confidence and defiance as she gives her peers like Ariana Grande a run for her money when it comes to range and runs. Clean Bandit’s production and songwriting skills make the whole track go off like a rocket within the first minute. And it’s all set to a clean garagey-pop rhythm that screams out to be heard blasting away in the sunshine. Capital and Bauer stations added it to their latest playlist a few days ago, ready for this weekend, and the Radio 1 premiere this morning is backed up tomorrow (May 28) with a debut performance of the song on the Britain’s Got Talent ITV primetime final. It’s undeniable world-class pop that defies the odds and shows the UK really do this better than anyone else. A mighty tune.
