Games
Claire
WE SAY
We first featured Claire in the weekly magazine back in June, when the dreamy post-pop vibes of Games were wafting around the blogosphere picking up plaudits from Best Fit, Earmilk and Pigeons & Planes among others. Formed around a core of three Munich producers, Claire is an international act in sound and appeal, signed to Astral Werks in the US and Island Records in Germany, but we think there's a UK currency here too - think of a poppier London Grammar buoyed by the housey grooves of Duke Dumont and his ilk that seem to be working so well this summer. Claire also lean into the electro-pop of Chvrches, Bastille and Capital Cities, all of whom they have toured with in their native Germany, where they recently joined Yahoo's On The Road tour. They make their US live debut at CMJ in October, which could well be the perfect platform to launch debut album The Great Escape, expected in early 2014, with a five-track EP released worldwide in September.
