It's rather fitting that Claire play The Great Escape this year as their debut album (due June 9) is actually titled The Great Escape too. The Munich five-piece fronted by Josie Claire Bürkle has been featured by us before back in January this year with their gorgeous single Games. That saw Radio 1 specialist support and now their profile continues to build here in the UK with this track. There's a 2.30pm gig this Thursday afternoon (May 8) in Brighton at The Green Door Store, then another in the wee small hours of Friday morning at 1.30am if you head over to Sticky Mike's venue. After an acclaimed SXSW performance earlier this year, now comes the second single. Think confident and assured contemporary electro pop with an enigmatic and engaging vocal. We played the entire album from start to finish the other day with all the windows open as the warm spring breeze circulated around the room and it's fair to say it soundtracked the mood perfectly. Sublime.
