Zimbabwe-born Canadian hip-hop artist Charmaine certainly knows how to deliver some fierce bars in this confident debut offering. Flaunting her slick flow against a backdrop of trap-inspired beats and some edgy bass, Charmaine oozes confidence and charisma in this challenge to the status quo and empowering track. Watch the video here. BOLD has already clocked up over half a million combined streams since its release in mid-October and featured on numerous Spotify editorial playlists, including Feelin’ Myself, Internet People, and NMF CAN. Tastemakers like Colors, Earmilk, Dummy, Link Up TV and The Floor Magazine among others have sung her praises too, making her, even at this early stage, as an artist to keep an eye on. She drops her debut EP early next year, but it wouldn’t surprise us if before then we hear the Toronto-based artist on some collabs too. Powerful, fresh and darkly menacing.
