WE SAY
You wouldn’t normally associate a German-raised teenager with the world of country music but here's Charly to truly flip convention on its head. The German-born 19 year-old lived in Russia up to the age of four, then spent her formative years back home, before moving to LA by herself three years ago to study at high school. Her idols include legends like Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette and Shania Twain and this lively track comes from her debut album, co-written by Charly alongside Ann Bailey and Matt Greaves, the duo that also crafted the songs on the 2014 BCMA award-winning album From Where We Stand by Ward Thomas. It’s a tune that’s also already found favour with Sir Terry Wogan at Radio 2, who’s supported music like this for many years now. With another of our favourites, The Shires, already scoring one of the biggest selling British-signed debut albums of 2015 so far in the UK, this musical genre is thriving today. We’re always a bit of a sucker when it comes to a well-crafted slice of country pop and Charly delivers the goods perfectly here. C'mon join the party, y'all.
