God, We Tried

Charlotte OC

Embassy Of Music

WE SAY

We’ve long been captivated by the vocal prowess and songwriting of Blackburn-born artist Charlotte OC. From her dark and moody downtempo beginnings to her Harvest/Universal releases and the alternative pop sound of her independent EP ‘Oh The Agony, Oh The Ecstasy’ - which included the RotD-featured release ‘Freedom’ - Charlotte has consistently impressed with her cinematic sound. Along the way, Charlotte has garnered the support of tastemakers at Spotify, Radio 1, Radio 2, V Magazine, Clash, Paper and more. Now, after a period of personal and professional upheaval—including the loss of her father - Charlotte has returned to her hometown from London, emerging stronger than ever with her poignant new single, 'God, We Tried’. Released last week, the track marks a new chapter in her career, offering a raw and deeply moving reflection on love, loss, and grief. Built on a foundation of soft electronics, delicate acoustic guitar melodies, warm handclap percussion, and subtle strings, ‘God, We Tried’ provides the perfect backdrop for Charlotte’s rich, heartfelt vocals and harmonies to shine. Taken from her upcoming EP on new home Embassy of Music, the track featured across editorial playlists at Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and Tidal, alongside numerous online tastemakers, including The Line of Best Fit, Hot Press, Independent and Dork. Watch the gorgeous video shot around Blackburn here. Welcome back Charlotte OC.
