WE SAY
Bedfordshire band CC Smugglers are one of the most energetic bands anywhere on the live circuit. They tour relentlessly and their unique blend of folk, Americana, swing, bluegrass, rock and even a dash of punk all bubbles up in the mix of influences. In the past eighteen months, they’ve really stepped up their game by adding a couple of key new members, which has expanded the depth of their sound hugely since they first started out as guerrilla buskers, and they’re now winning plaudits far and wide. Festival appearances at Latitude (where they headlined the BBC Introducing stage) Glastonbury, Cornbury, Isle Of Wight, Camden Rocks and Cambridge have helped bring them to the attention of tastemakers including Cerys Matthews at 6Music and Bob Harris at Radio 2, where this track is currently sitting on the station’s playlist. Their debut album should be with us next summer, preceded by an April UK tour to set things up, but you can catch them live in London next on October 25 at the Courtyard Theatre. Hugely infectious, this rollicking stomper is packed with feel-good vibes.
