WE SAY

A hot favourite for tonight's Choice Music Prize in Dublin, Cathy Davey's second album 'Tales of Silversleeve' was released in Ireland last year to widespread critical acclaim and radio success. Davey won Best Female Artist at the Meteor awards and played a well-received gig at Eurosonic in January. Co-produced by Liam Howe (Sneaker Pimps), it's a great pop album, swerving in different directions and tempos along the way. The wonderful 'Reuben' and 'Sing For Your Supper' are highlights and contenders for singles in the UK. It would be a deserving winner of the prize tonight and we hope that the album gets the push it deserves in the UK later this year. JF
