Prada - Record of the Year

cassö x RAYE x D-Block Europe

Ministry of Sound

WE SAY

This year’s RotD Record of the Year accolade goes to cassö x RAYE x D-Block Europe for the massive tune ‘Prada’. It’s been a huge global success for the 21 year old this summer and has catapulted him from obscurity to international acclaim. It all started when he took the original by D-Block Europe featuring Raye and turned it into an aggressive dance edit to be played at his uni house parties in Swansea. It caught the attention of the masses when he decided to upload it on Soundcloud and TikTok, where it quickly topped the global SoundCloud chart as well as the UK and US ones and went on to peak at No.2 on the OCC chart, including 11 weeks in Top 5, and hit no.1 in five markets (Top 5 in nine). Along the way, ‘Prada’ has been championed by Radio 1, Capital FM and Kiss FM, as well as supported heavily at DSPs with additions and covers on key playlists at Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Deezer and YouTube. Now with over 360m global streams and people everywhere enjoying this banger in clubs, at parties and on TikTok (half a million TikTok creations), we expect more great things from this newly found star in 2024. Congratulations to cassö, RAYE, D-Block Europe, Ministry of Sound, Marty Barnes and the extended team, and here’s to a massive 2024 for you all.
