Carlis Star
WE SAY
Manchester band Carlis Star impressed us when we caught them at their Catch ITC show last month. Live, they really pulled off the girl-boy vocals and three part harmonies, while influences like Grandaddy and Ash come to the fore on this track. A live session on XFM Manchester earlier this year was followed by Radio 1 airplay from Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens. This is planned for release as a single in early 2008. BBC Manchester website's Chris Long summed up how we felt: "Layering sweet harmonies on chaotic songs...it turns out Manc indie music can still be original". JF London gig: 21 November, Discovery Talent at Soho Revue Bar, W1. Stage time 22:20 Contact Chistian D'Acuna for industry list.
