Released today (March 31) and premiered last night on Mistajam’s Radio 1 show, this standout song is the title track to the debut EP from Callum Beattie. Born and raised in Edinburgh, he’s a singer-songwriter who busked around his hometown before teaming up with producer Ken Nelson. Ken was played rough demos and heard the enormous potential in his music. These are big euphoric guitar-driven pop anthems, like ones he crafted for Coldplay and Paolo Nutini, which sound timeless on the radio. Keane were once the masters of this, with hooks and lifts that would have a stadium on its feet, singing along. This Sunday night (April 2) he’s on the line-up for Communion at Notting Hill Arts Club and has a show lined up in May for BBC Introducing at The Lexington on May 4 and a biggie at The Great Escape in Brighton too. We're putting you all on standby that he’s a platinum-selling artist of the future. Forget almost every hot tip that you thought was going to make a splash in 2017. We’re convinced Callum will usurp them all, because this supreme opening gambit is an instant classic.
