WE SAY
It’s been over fifteen months since we last featured Scottish singer-songwriter Callum Beattie and we are glad to say that he is back with this gloriously upbeat anthem. Since his last release, Miracle, Callum moved to Berlin after splitting up with his girlfriend of ten years to get over her. It's also where, with his long-time friend and songwriter Michael Ochs, he started to record and write new songs again. Premiered by Ken Bruce on his Radio 2 show yesterday, Connection is the first track of many from his Berlin stay and features on Spotify UK's New Music Friday playlist. Primed for more airplay with its effortless melodicism and feelgood vibes, we reckon Callum is on to a winner that is set to propel his rising star even further along. Previous tastemaker support has come from the likes of Clash, the Telegraph and tmrw magazine among others, and with an official video to be released on 12 April, we are sure there are more features to come. He’s currently supporting the Kooks on their European tour where he will no doubt make a connection with fans and continue to build his growing fanbase. An uplifting and absolute gem.
