Kentucky-based Bryson Tiller is a 22-year old emerging hip-hop star who’s skilfully carving a uniquely reflective niche in R&B, with smooth, soulful street beats and bang-on-trend minimal production helping give this track plenty of room to breathe. He’s certainly tapped into something big here, with almost 38 million views for the track on YouTube and across-the-board acclaim from the likes of Drake and Timbaland (who’s produced one of the tracks on his album), plays from Zane Lowe at Beats1, Annie Mac, Huw Stephens and Mistajam on Radio 1, an A-list spot at 1Xtra, plus support at Capital Xtra too. This track has already stealthily notched up more than 45,000 sales in the UK alone and the mixtape T R A P S O U L has sold 15k here since October.
