Grabbing your attention right from the start with its infectious and nostalgic beat, this stunning track from 21 year old singer and multi-instrumentalist Brooke Combe may well become one of your new favourite tunes of 2022 – it’s one of ours. Raised at the family home near Edinburgh on a diet of Motown and Whitney Houston, Brooke discovered her love of music early and learnt to play six instruments, including the guitar, drums and piano, through her school years. Her online covers of Arctic Monkeys and Baccara tracks quickly created a stir and found her a record deal with Island Records. Since then, she has released a string of singles produced by the Coral’s James Skelly, received tastemaker acclaim, and toured with the Courteeners and the Snuts. Plus, she has been tipped by the NME and Amazing Radio in their Ones To Watch 2022 lists and named as the Best Female Breakthrough Artist at the Scottish Music Awards 2021. With all the hallmarks of an earworm, from the swaggering rhythms to the captivating hooks, smoky vocals and singalong chorus, Miss Me Now is an absolute gem, perfect for spins on Radio 1, Radio 2, Absolute and Virgin. Spotify UK, Apple Music, and Deezer supported the track upon release last Friday with editorial playlists features. With plenty of festival dates lined up this year, including Liverpool Sound City, TRNSMT, Kendal Calling and Y Not festivals, as well as support slots with the Coral and Miles Kane, there will be plenty of chances to see this rising star shine and for her to build her growing fanbase.
