Ain't No Reason

Brett Dennen

Dual Tone, US

WE SAY

Californian solo artist Brett Dennen released his album second album So Much More in the UK (distributed by Proper) at the start of the year. It flew slightly under the radar, with the exception of a place for this track on the R2 C-list. We think it deserves so much more. This beautiful song only came to our attention when a friend heard it on an episode of House, US dramas being a fairly typical way for many people to happen upon their new music these days. Dennen's music has benefited from several other TV syncs including Grey's Anatomy and Scrubs. Both singles from this album, this track included, charted as iTunes top downloads in the US after its release last November. He is currently touring with John Mayer. We love everything about this song, including the vocal which reminds us of both Dylan and Paul Simon. JF
