With a top slice of Americana from the same label that's home to the likes of Alabama Shakes and Midlake, Seattle-born Brandi Carlile already has a lot of big fans in the music industry. Legends like Elton John (who sang a duet on her last album), Graham Nash and Sheryl Crow are among her legions of famous supporters and this track from her forthcoming album The Firewatcher's Daughter is about to bring her to the attention of the UK and Europe too with Sir Terry Wogan at Radio 2 premiering the song a couple of weeks ago on his Sunday morning show. Since her debut album went Top 10 on Billboard, she’s shifted more than a million albums and singles in the US, made records with Rick Rubin and T-Bone Burnett and now comes to London for a week’s worth of TV, radio and press promo next month. This’ll include two sold-out dates at Islington’s Union Chapel on February 12 & 13 of her ‘pin drop’ acoustic shows - no amps, no PA, no mics. Boys with acoustic guitars ruled the world in 2014 - now, with Brandi’s growing groundswell of fans, the ladies strike back.
