WE SAY
Brandi Carlile's country-influenced pop is proving a sleeper hit in the US, with the use of this, the title track of her forthcoming album, on 'Gray's Anatomy'. Discovered by Rick Rubin, and produced by T Bone Burnett- her fresh alt. country sound, powered by that great vocal, is really impressive. Mojo's praise sums up how we feel about her album: "Brandi Carlile gives you something from her inner core... conviction bears down from every track". A buzz has already started in the UK - at her first visit in November she sold out Borderline and returned for the Newton Faulkner tour. A UK tour to coincide with the release of the album and lead single 'Turpentine' will happen in April. JF London gig: April 21, KCLSU WC2
