Eyesdown
Bonobo
WE SAY
Readying the follow-up to 2006's Days To Come album, Simon Green aka Bonobo has struck out with a sound which places him perfectly between his established fanbase and fans of the new wave of British dance artists like Joy Orbison and Chase & Status. Eyesdown has a beautiful vocal turn from Andreya Triana leading over a lush dubstep rhythm - it's subtle yet persuasive, probably Bonobo's most contemporary sounding work to date. Since Days To Come Bonobo has become one of Ninja Tunes' most listened to artists, with over 16 million plays recorded on last.fm. The next album Black Sands", deserves to see his work connect with even more fans. JF London gig: March 18 showcase at Ronnie Scotts W1 (13:00, invite-only).
