WE SAY
Drawing influences from Radiohead at their peak and Sigur Rós at their most accessible, this track from BODIES is an intriguing song to say the least. It’s the work of Irish musician David Anthony McGeown, who quit all of the other bands and projects he was involved with three years ago to focus on this solo project. This second single points us towards his upcoming EP and album, which features collaborations with more than 20 different musicians including Kid Karate, BLOOMS, Squarehead and Lethal Dialect. Lyrically, the song was inspired by David’s decision to try and stay sober whilst still embracing club culture, and the frustrating struggle that followed. As a live band, he’s complemented by three others, and will be launching the single this Saturday (July 29) at Sin E in Dublin. With attention and praise across major Irish tastemaker blogs and rock magazines from Hot Press and beyond, wait for this to pull you in with its moody, brooding atmospheric vibe before madness descends and spills over in the final 15 seconds. Right now, we're rather eager to hear more.
