BLUEYES
WE SAY
We’ve been tracking the progress of unsigned artist Bronagh Monaghan, alias BLUEYES, for several months now, since we first featured her in January with the sultry song Skin. The singer-songwriter from Northern Ireland has been based in London for a couple of years, and has recently found her niche with a sound that seduces the listener right from the off. As a result of us spotlighting her at the start of the year, she’s recently had many positive meetings in Los Angeles, and even met one of her musical heroes Lana Del Rey during the summer there. She’s also made contact with a like-minded bedroom producer and hopes to be writing a lot with him in the coming months. Like Lana, BLUEYES creates a soulful soundscape based around chilled minimalist electronic beats with a modern R&B twist to it all. We urge you to catch her perform live when she’s next on stage in London on October 25 at a free gig as part of Blogtober for Press Play OK at The Finsbury. Still unsigned and looking for management, this gorgeous song points to her breakthrough feeling tantalisingly close.
