Black Diamond Bay
WE SAY
Black Heart has to be Black Diamond Bay's best track yet, with a great so-called 'slo-mo' groove, and soulful sultry vocal reminiscent of St Etienne or Martina Topley-Bird. It's certainly a promising glimpse into the band's forthcoming album. We noticed the five-piece when they featured as a Tip of The Week on the BBC Introducing blog back in September and got hooked. They played Leeds and Reading on the Introducing stage and have picked up strong support from Radio 1, Xfm, 6Music and Kiss. We can expect the album to surface later this year and can't wait to hear more. For now they are unsigned, but if they keep producing songs like this we can't see that being the case for long.
