How Dare You
BLÜ EYES
WE SAY
If you haven’t heard of rising LA-based bedroom-pop artist Katie Stump, aka BLÜ EYES yet, then here is the perfect chance to get acquainted with her. Having grown up in a musical family, Katie studied pop performance at the University of Southern California and played in bands before she began to develop her production skills. Last year she independently released her gorgeous and heartfelt debut EP, healing hurts. The EP included the emotive you’d never know, an ode about her journey with chronic illness, which has since amassed millions of streams, along with editorial support across DSPs. Earlier this month, she dropped her follow up EP, The Last Songs I’ll Write About You, which features this upbeat, synth-heavy ode. Tracks from the EP have been heavily playlisted at Apple Music, Amazon and Spotify, where she recently was the cover of the Created By Women Spotify playlist in recognition of her writing and producing her own music. This weekend, she will be playing two sold out shows in London at The Grace on Friday (26 May) and then at the O2 Islington on Sunday (28 May). If you are free and can get on the guest list, we highly recommend you pop down.
