Lanterns
Birds of Tokyo
WE SAY
Epic Australian rock band Birds of Tokyo are currently enjoying the biggest hit of their career down under. The anthemic Lanterns, from their soon-to-be-released fourth album March Fires, has gone top 3 sales, bulleting from 10 to 3 on the national airplay chart. Following acclaimed albums and a clutch of awards on home shores, Birds of Tokyo added two new members, moved cities, revamped their songwriting approach and then relocated to Los Angeles to record with Dave Cooley (Silversun Pickups, Darker My Love). All these changes have clearly paid off, with the resulting album attracting significant interest from US major labels, and finding a good fit alongside the softer guitar sound of Mumfords, Of Monsters, Lumineers et al, all currently working well at radio on alternative and hot AC. Lanterns could light up commercial CHR just as brightly in the UK. All rights outside Australia and New Zealand are available.
